On the 20th of October 2019, The Bishop of Dorchester came to St John’s Church to officially open and dedicate the church hall.

Thanks to the hall improvements the Church and Hall are now highly accessible to all with “changing places” equipment installed in the disabled toilet, this equipment includes an adult hoist and changing table, improved acoustics for the hard of hearing, easy access to the garden and a calm area.

The refurbishments were completed in September 2019, with thanks to significant support from the Vale of the White Horse District CouncilFCC Communities FundGrove Parish CouncilGarfield Weston TrustRank Foundation Pebbles Fund and the All Churches Trust, as well as generous donations from church members and friends.

The hall was built with the aim of serving the community and is well used by community groups but is available for hire at other times. It can accommodate 120 people seated, and 240 standing.
