(better known as Shoe Box – a gift of love)

During November, in a warehouse in the Reading area, multitudes of shoe boxes will continue to be delivered by volunteers from the surrounding towns and villages. Each shoe box needs to be checked and packed before being shipped out to a destination around the world. Where finally, that gift of love is received into a child’s hands.

Last year, I joined the team (despite a broken leg) and we picked and packed from 10 am to 10 pm! My point, it’s a mammoth task. Many volunteers are needed; it would be great if we had volunteer teams from St John’s in groups of 3 or 4.

My daughter Melissa Bright is the coordinator and I am collecting name on her behalf.
