Sunday 18th May 2025
Following the interviews conducted on the 9th May, we are very pleased to confirm the appointment of Rev Dr Miriam Jones to the post of Associate Vicar for the Vale Benefice, she is currently the Curate at All Saints Gosforth and St Hugh’s Gosforth near Newcastle.
The appointment is subject to the usual legal checks required before anyone can be confirmed in post. Assuming all progresses as expected, Miriam and her family hope to be able to move into the Grove Vicarage sometime during August so her children can start in their new schools at the beginning of the new term in September. It is hoped Miriam’s licensing service will be held sometime in September.
Miriam writes: After four years of ministry in the Diocese of Newcastle, I am excited to be beginning a new chapter in the beautiful Vale Benefice as your new Associate Vicar. Before moving to the UK in 2019, I lived in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where I was brought up in an international family with American and Canadian roots. My husband Thomas and I have three daughters and a son: Emily (13), Julia (10), Zoe (8) and Adam (4). In my free time, I enjoy reading, board games, long walks and long conversations. I look forward to getting to know you all in the months ahead, and to discovering together what God has in store for us!
We look forward to welcoming Miriam into our community. She is a gifted priest and passionate follower of Jesus and we are excited to live and work alongside her as we enter this new phase in the life of the Vale Benefice.
