On Saturday 11 July, St John’s Church warmly welcomed the community to its annual Summer Fete. The event featured a delightful range of stalls, including toys, books, plants, crafts, gifts, and an array of homemade cakes. Visitors of all ages enjoyed a host of activities such as tombola, lucky dip, crazy golf, traditional games, and a lively raffle.
As expected, the cream teas proved to be a massive favourite amongst attendees, with queues forming early in the afternoon. The organisers wish to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed – from those who helped erect the tents and staffed the stalls, to the volunteers who stayed behind to tidy away.
Outside at the Summer Fete
The fete not only brought neighbours together in a wonderful celebration of community spirit, but it also successfully opened the church to new visitors. While fundraising was not the primary aim, the event raised over £900 to support church activities.
All who attended or lent a hand had a truly enjoyable day, and the church looks forward to welcoming everyone again next year. We are looking for a new organiser next year, so anyone who is interested please speak to the PCC or Nicky for more information
