Many of you will have spotted two new furry friends around church lately, peeking into the church hall or St John’s rooms. Puck and Ariel are our new(ish) Vicarage cats and they have been busily exploring ever since they were allowed to go outside in the spring.
Puck (tuxedo cat) and Ariel (with a mask over one eye) are brother and sister and they just had their first birthday in May. They do their best to patrol the outside and keep us safe from the dangers of the outside world including butterflies and pigeons.
They have also taken on themselves the duty of protecting the church itself, so if the doors are left open you will occasionally find that they wander in to make sure everything is still in order.
They are shy of large numbers of people or loud noises so we don’t expect them to join the 10:15 service any time soon. They are very friendly and used to kids and will probably condescend to being stroked if you stoop down to say hello.
