August is normally a quiet month when the Church Hall and St John’s Rooms are not as busy as normal. However the SMT have been busy, we have arranged for the doorway between the hall and the toilets to be made accessible for all, we also organised servicing of the accessible hoist in the hall toilet. We scheduled the Fire alarm to have a six-monthly test, and the carpets in the Church, the Hall and St John’s Rooms have all been cleaned.

We have had the new gas pipe installed. The pipe has been pressure tested and is now awaiting final connection to the gas meter. The connecting pipe is on order and as soon as it arrives it will be fitted.

Thank you to all those who helped to move gravel, surplus earth, distribute pea shingle over the gas pipe and generally tidy up in front of St John’s Rooms.

Last but not least many thanks to Anne Cheeseman for cleaning all the black chairs in the hall. – John Harris
